Art Exhibition

Students studying A-Level Art at Global Academy got the experience of putting together their own ‘Work in Progress’ show for their peers as part of a creative exhibition event in the school. The event was titled ‘The Shirley Show exhibition’

Jenna Grundy, Zoe Williams, Daniela Josan and Tendai Harcup in Year 13 all take the course and were tasked with developed a stand-out event to help create content for their portfolios for future progression after finishing the course.

The students were tasked with preparing their ‘work in progress’ pieces, as well as producing all advertising materials and running the Shirley Show exhibition. The students also had to develop their event management skills by setting up and dressing the space for visitors – as well as purchase those all-important snacks!

The event also helped the students produce their UCAS personal statements as they were able to get feedback from the wider school community of peers, staff, and guests.

Well done to Chantelle Callaghan, Head of Art for championing the project.

“Our favourite part was having an impressive turnout that exceeded expectations”
