Marketing Coordinator at Heart, LBC and Smooth

After graduating from Global Academy Emily landed her role of Marketing Coordinator at Heart, LBC and Smooth. In this role, she is responsible for managing the smooth running of events and projects.

Heart Breakfast Show Launch

Working on the Heart Breakfast Launch was one of Emily’s favourite experiences working at Global. She said “I was the shoot coordinator, so one minute I was getting Amanda and her Glam Squad from A to B, to then changing the screens in the studio so we always had a logo in shot. Also working with external agencies to make sure they had everything they needed.”

Emily Tells Us How The Academy helped her prepare

We had a lot of guests come from Global to speak to us, they enlightened us of the endless jobs and opportunities that we just didn’t know about! We were also paired up with mentors from Global to help our progression into the media industry, as well as teach us the ways of Global as we got closer to starting our apprenticeship. My mentor was invaluable and I don’t think I would be in the position I am today without her. Our lessons were no normal lessons, they were based around industry briefs.

We were set live tasks from big companies where we had to pitch our actual ideas to them. This taught us how to work collaboratively, with live briefs and manage senior people in the media industry. The majority of teachers came from working in media so hearing their stories of getting into the industry, what they’ve learnt and what their biggest challenges were was so inspiring and really allowed us to see that anything is possible.
