Graduate tells us how Global Academy got her dream job at Global

Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to get into the Media and Broadcast industry, sixth form graduate tells current students how to make it possible.

At Global Academy, we help our students to build and grow their contact base making sure they leave with industry contacts they can go to for work experience, apprenticeship roles, or full-time employment in the creative industry. One way we do this is through our G-talks. This week we had a Graduate and current Marketing Apprentice at Global, Jasmine Wissart. Current year 12 Student Gemma Nash, interviewed Jasmine about How she got the role, what her job looks like day today, and what tips she has for current students.

Jasmine joined Global Academy from year 10, travelling 2 hours a day to attend and had her own radio show on Youths Choice. Jasmine was always very dedicated throughout her time here and was heavily involved in MyBnk Podcast and UAL Awarding body takes over and explored the world of marketing closely with ideas foundation. She always took every opportunity that was available to her from Global Academy. 4 years later, Jasmine was 1 out of 8 students who were offered a role in Global’s competitive Apprenticeship scheme, only open to Global Academy students, and has been highly successful in this role since continuing here journey with Global this past year.

Jasmine talked to our students about how important it is to have a positive mindset, be your true self, and make the most out of every opportunity. She encouraged current students to try something they have never done before and step out of their comfort zone as you never know where these closed doors may be open to.

Jasmine went on to explain she applied for over 30 apprenticeships and was able to secure the Global Apprenticeship due to the opportunities and teaching at Global Academy. This gave her the confidence to keep going and know she can be a successful woman in the media and broadcast industry.

Jasmine has since started her own podcast called ‘Mini Moments’ which is featured on Spotify and Apple Podcast and focuses on Self-growth and wellness and is working on some of the UK’s biggest campaigns at Global in her Marketing role. Jasmine went on to explain how useful the G-talks were when she was a student here and how she wished she networked with the guests more as she feels this could have really helped her to achieve things much faster and would have opened her opportunity and contact list up even further.

“Mindset is key; you can always gain a new experience or develop a new skill, but as long as you have a positive mindset, you will succeed”

We are so proud of Jasmine and her achievements and we want to thank her for coming in and showing current Global Academy students just where your talent and passion can take you as long as you are willing to work hard, take opportunities, and network with the industry.

We are wishing her the best of luck with her future venters and if you want to listen to her brand-new podcast please click HERE.
