Video skills workshop at Canon HQ

This week, Year 12 and 13 content production students headed to Canon HQ…

Where they were given the opportunity of attending an amazing hands-on video and photography skills workshop.

During the 2-hour masterclass session, students worked with Goncalo Rodrigues, a Senior Video and Photography specialist, who taught them a number of key skills including; working with talent; lighting techniques and framing shots.
Students also were able to get involved and try their hand at operating a number of Canon’s high specification cameras, during a mini carousel challenge.

“The students were so engaged, passionate and eager to learn, so it was also inspiring for us to have them here”

Cecilie Harris, Creative Services Manager – Canon

“I was quite simply taken away by the team and the equipment at Canon. It was simply better than words could explain it. From behind the scenes of lighting, to the sound and even getting in front of the camera – it was such an amazing experience words can’t even explain it. The team were absolutely amazing as well and were really fun to be with!”

Adam Matthews, Year 12 student

“I found this experience really interesting, especially learning how to work the cameras and how lighting means a lot when filming. Thank you for this opportunity”

Lina Young, Year 12 student
