How To Write A Good CV
Anais from Merkle spoke about keeping a CV simple and relevant – ‘some people put everything from primary school onwards, don’t make it a 3 page CV!’. Isabelle added: “Consider the role you are applying for. If a creative role, allow your personality to come through in the graphics and colours. If a data and analytics role, clean, crisp, direct, to the point is what I’m looking for.]
Interview Tips
Mille from Gleam Futures gave our students top tips for interviews such as “Visualise yourself putting a ‘confident hat’ on when you walk in” and also spoke about university giving a lot of life experience.
Professional Presence
Kirsty from Carat spoke about the importance of CV’s and in interviews “not to wear anything too crazy, but something memorable can help the interviewer remember you with visual cues”
Talk By Global
Our second session was run by Global and featured their Director of Events Siobhan McCreesh and Chief Technology Officer, David Henderson.
David gave students an insight into some of the projects which happen in the tech department at Global!
We also got a sneak preview into the new LBC studio in Millbank which has been designed for radio, video, social and web platforms together.
Apprenticeships & Next Steps
All Spring Media held the final session. They took us through the world of apprenticeships in the media industry. All Spring Media provide training to companies like BBC, Global and Channel 4. Maddy from ASM explained all the key dates needed when taking on an apprenticeship in the creative industry. Students had the chance to ask lots of question to deepen their knowledge!
