Over three hundred members of the Global Academy family including current students, their families, friends and future Global Academy students got the chance to attend an exclusive screening of the new Sing 2 film a week before it is released in the cinema.

Our cinema takeover took place at Cineworld and saw us descend into the prestigious Leicester Square venue to watch the hit film before anyone else. The film is being promoted across a unique partnership on Global Radio stations including Capital and Heart – and as part of the partnership, Universal Pictures treated Global Academy students to this exclusive preview!

Sing 2 stars cast including Oscar® winner’s Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly and Nick Kroll and written and directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Garth Jennings and features, in addition to Bono’s role, new characters played by music superstars Pharrell Williams and Halsey, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright, and comedians Eric Andre and Chelsea Peretti.

Our students also got to pick up goodie bags, treats and much more in the pre-show entertainment too. This partnership with Universal Pictures UK is the start of a unique opportunity for Year 12 students to work on a promotional campaign for the film distributor later this year too.
