Global Academy students spent two days with colleagues from ITV Studios and Ideas Foundations to learn what goes on behind the scenes in creating award-winning TV show formats and ideas.
On the first day, students were briefed by ITV, who talked them through the project. They were joined by ITV as well as the Ideas Foundation representatives who guided them through and help them to develop their ideas culminating in a final pitch on their creative campaign. Students worked in small groups and presents their ideas to senior professionals from ITV on the final day.
Global Academy students came up with a wide range of ideas for TV show formats across non-scripted, entertainment, and quiz show concepts. All students got the chance to pitch their group ideas to a selection of ITV employees who offered feedback on how they could develop their ideas.
Three groups of students were chosen to represent Global Academy in a final event against other schools across London at a finale event held at ITV Studios in White City. We even got to see behind the scenes of some of ITV’s biggest shows including This Morning, ITV News, Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, and more!
Global Academy came first AND second place in a nail-biting final with our unique TV show ideas titled “Your New Neighbour” and “Big Sister”. Congratulations to all the students involved.
It was brilliant for our younger students to get a feel on what it is like to work on a real life media brief and to work alongside industry professionals to come up with new and unique ideas. I think we may have met some TV producers of the future!
