Global Academy’s Year 14 students plan and manage a 3-day fundraiser for Globals Make Some Noise Charity.
As part of their UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative enterprise our Year 14 students were asked to be in charge of planning and delivering Global Academy’s Fundraising events in aid to support, Global’s Make Some Noise, a charity that helps raise vital funds for small charity’s around the globe to make a life-changing difference to people’s lives on 7th October 2022.
As ever our celebrations started early at Global Academy and we had a three-day fundraiser from 5th -7th October 2022, where staff and students took part in various activities to help raise money. This included Hot chocolates to keep us warm at break time, Teacher’s basketball tournaments, and of course the infamous Lip Sync Battle! On Thursday 6th October all staff and students took part in dressing loudly and supporting the charity to its max. All students were invited to these events at the ask of a small donation for entry. This was a fantastic event that was enjoyed by all and as a school, we managed to raise over £400. As well as events, charity buckets were placed around the school for anyone who wanted to donate anonymously.
This was also a fantastic opportunity for our students to see what goes into planning and running events, ensuring their entrepreneurship skills were put to the test. We spoke to event managers who told us:
I didn’t realise how difficult it was going to be to plan an event. There’s so much to think of that I had never even considered before. It is great to see how our idea’s have come to life and the success the event has seen. – Dani Foley, Project Manager.
We want to thank our students and staff for taking part in this fantastic event and we can not wait to celebrate next year!
