Year 14 students welcome industry guests as part of their studies!

This term our Year 14 students have welcomed a variety of industry guests as part of their creative enterprise studies.

Earlier this month, Joel Stern, Enterprise Director at Global, came into the academy to deliver an uplifting presentation about ‘how to fail successfully’.

Using multiple real-life examples, Joel reassured students that it’s OK to fail and sometimes you need to fail to succeed!

In addition, last week, Amy Elizabeth (a freelance presenter/producer from BBC Radio 1) came in to speak about making an idea come to life.

Amy has overseen and launched a number of high-profile podcasts including; Strictly Come Dancing, Love Island and The Masked Singer and so is highly knowledgeable about making something happen!

She also spoke about what it is like freelancing in the media industry, offering advice and guidance on important practises including networking and negotiating.

Our students relish the opportunity of these experiences and working so closely with industry. It’s sessions like these that bring real life working practises into the classroom and ultimately help shape our students to ensure they are ready to kick start their creative careers.
