Year 12 Work on Branded Content Media Briefs in Industry Challenge

Year 12 was set the challenge of responding to an advertising brief for a real client brief before presenting the ideas to the advertising agency.

Across a three week period in February and March – all Year 12s across our three courses, were set the challenge of responding to an advertising brief for a real client brief before presenting the ideas to the advertising agency.

Our annual ‘Branded Content’ project saw students responding to a live brief set by some of the UK’s largest advertising agencies including Carat, Mediacom, the7stars, OMD and Wavemaker.

Students started the programme with a briefing and guidance sessions from Global’s commercial team alongside representatives from the media agencies. The session took students through how to develop a creative idea and use consumer insights to ensure the idea was a success. Students had three weeks to go from briefing to execution and produce their own exciting branded content of their choice.

Students worked on creating content for a wide range of clients including Universal Pictures, CoOp, McDonald’s, Barclaycard, Irn Bru and KFC. A whole host of creative responses were developed including video campaigns, social media influencer partnerships, radio campaigns, out of home creatives and more!

Students were taught the process of understanding how to read and interpret a client brief and then use consumer insights to create a bespoke piece of branded content that works well for both the advertiser and the brand.

Thank you for such a great experience. One of the most rewarding aspects is seeing the students present such impressive ideas to the agency and clients. They were great.
