Sky Studios played host to an exhilarating day for Global Academy students, providing a unique opportunity to dive into the heart of media production. The morning saw a group of Year 10 students engaging in a fast-paced challenge: they had a mere 30 minutes to script, light, and don costumes before filming a compelling news bulletin focused on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

In the afternoon, the baton was passed to the Year 12 Technical Media and Broadcast students, who embarked on an in-depth tour of the various studios at Sky. From the dynamic environments of Sky Sports and Sky News to the cutting-edge Augmented Reality set, the students were captivated by the technology and innovation at play. The tour extended behind the scenes, where the magic happens in editing live sports and news, unraveling the meticulous process that brings content to our screens.

One student, Conrad Lyndon, expressed the enchantment of the Sky Studios experience, stating,

“The Sky Studios experience was incredible! The team really made it magical. When we explored the different studios, it felt like entering another universe. I loved learning about their different studios and how they run them. We also discovered some fascinating job roles we didn’t even know existed.”
