Three Globallers Nominated for Student of the Year in RISE Awards

Global Academy celebrates the nominations of three exceptional students and alumni for the prestigious “Student of the Year” award at the RISE Awards, highlighting their dedication to technical media.

In a world where gender diversity is increasingly celebrated and advocated for across various sectors, it’s heartening to see young talents making their mark. Rise, the advocacy group for gender diversity in the broadcast tech sector, recently announced its shortlist for the prestigious RISE Awards, and we’re thrilled to share that two outstanding Year 13 students and one alumni from Global Academy have been nominated for the “Student of the Year” award. This recognition is a testament to their dedication, creativity, and passion for the world of technical media.

The RISE Awards shortlist is the result of the diligent work of judges who carefully reviewed over 300 nominations, encompassing women, men, and companies from diverse roles such as Business, R&D Engineers, Production Support, Product Innovation, Marketer/PR, Rising Star, Sales, and Technical Operations. This year’s awards ceremony, held in partnership with Sky and EMG, will take place on the 7th of November at Troxy in London, with the exciting option to stream the event live.

Rise Founder, Sadie Groom, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming response to the fifth edition of the Rise Awards:

“We were overwhelmed by the response we had in the fifth year of Rise Awards, with triple the amount of applications we have had in the past. We are grateful for everyone who submitted an entry on the inspiring women in their workplaces and extend big congratulations to all those shortlisted. We all look forward to celebrating amazing women and diversity allies at the 7th of November.”
