Year 12 Creative Enterprise class visits Askonas Holt, a top artist management company in London.

Earlier this week, out Year 12 Creative Enterprise class had the privilege of visiting Askonas Holt at Somerset House – one of the leading artist management companies in the world to hear from the team about the world of talent management. Students gained a first hand look at the day-to-day operations of a world-class management company and learned about the various careers available in the music industry.

The trip kicked off with a tour of Somerset House, where Askonas Holt has its headquarters. Students were able to see the beautiful architecture and learn about the history of this iconic building. They were then introduced to the team at Askonas Holt, who spoke to them about the various careers available in the music industry, including artist management, marketing, and event planning.

One of the most exciting parts of the visit was learning about talent scouting. Askonas Holt is responsible for discovering and nurturing some of the most talented classical musicians in the world, and students were able to learn about the process of identifying and developing this talent – as well as have a go and deciding which talent the agency should take on! Students were introduced to various scenarios in artist management, gaining a deeper understanding of the complexities of managing a classical musician’s career.

Another important aspect of the visit was learning about how classical music is relevant in today’s world. Despite being a centuries-old art form, classical music remains an integral part of our cultural heritage and continues to inspire and move people all over the world. We had a fun quiz to help students see how classical music can be used to create a powerful and emotional experience for audiences and how classical music is such a key part our lives!
