Earlier today, we were delighted to welcome Ray Paul, Founder of The Playmaker Group (PMG), to Global Academy, where he delivered a festival inspired workshop to our Year 12 Creative Enterprise Students. Ray set up PMG after 20 years at the BBC where amongst other things, was responsible for launching 1Xtra.

During his interaction with the Year 12 students, Ray shared real-world experiences from his career in the music industry, including touring with the likes of world class stars including Beyonce and Jay-Z. He also discussed the challenges faced in event management and production, highlighting the importance of adaptability, creativity, and teamwork.

Ray also set the students an interactive challenge of getting them to think about their own festival line up, who they would like to see top the bill, whilst getting them to think about themes, budgeting and promotion of the event too.

Overall, Ray’s visit to Global Academy provided Year 12 students with a unique opportunity to learn from a high profile industry expert. His insights and experiences offered valuable guidance and inspiration, empowering the students to pursue their creative passions and embark on successful careers in the entertainment industry.
