Year 12 was back with an industry bang this week, as we welcomed them back to the academy with not one, but TWO industry workshops. 

First up was Joseph Semakula, a Brand and Sponsorship Specialist at Canon EMEA, who came in to deliver an unforgettable branding workshop to our Year 12 Creative Enterprise students. With his wealth of knowledge and infectious energy, Joseph effortlessly captured the attention of every student in the room, with his charismatic presence which set the tone for the engaging and informative session. Through a series of interactive activities, thought-provoking discussions, and captivating storytelling, Joseph unveiled the secrets behind successful branding. His ability to connect with the students on a personal level fostered an environment of open dialogue and creative exploration and our Year 12 students left the workshop with a newfound passion for branding and a deep appreciation for Joseph Semakula’s expertise.

Then in the afternoon, Daniel Roberts and Tom Holliday from ENVY (an award winning post production company) came in to deliver a workshop to our Year 12 Content Production Students. Their visit provided a fantastic opportunity for our students to dive into the world of ENVY, and how they form part of the production process for some of the UK’s most iconic shows including; Gogglebox, Top Gear and Britains Got Talent. Daniel and Tom also gave an intro into the world of AVID, an editing software which they and the team use, demonstrating its power in post-production workflows. Their hands-on approach and insightful anecdotes brought the software to life, making it accessible and inspiring for our students. Throughout the workshop, Tom and Dan fostered an environment of collaboration and exploration, encouraging everyone to push their boundaries and unleash their creativity.
