About the Course
A two-year programme at the Global Academy Sixth Form that combines media studies with practical skills training in short form content production across audio, visual and digital platforms
Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at Level 4 and above, including Maths and English, plus a passion and understanding of media.
What I will study / do during the course?
100% coursework.
We work over two years, with the first year being a skills build across the leading audio and visual areas.
The students then undertake a more detailed audio and visual project, which includes writing, recording, shooting, producing and platforming content. We partner with industry to create branded content and finally the students complete a final major project on their main passion, whether audio, visual or a combination.
Year 2 sees work on developing content for different platforms and specific audiences before completing the Final Major project in the specialism of their choice.
What qualification will I get?
UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology (equivalent to 3 A Levels and offers up to 168 UCAS Points)
What partners are involved in the course?
Our leading partner is Global, and we currently have 30-plus graduates working full time with the company in roles from presenting to marketing.
Other partners include IMG Premier League Productions who have taken on many former students in roles as diverse as Premier League Productions to ATP Tennis.
University of the Arts London UAL is our leading academic partner, providing us with the Level 3 course our students undertake over the two years they are here.
Where could this course take me?
The course prepares you for entry-level roles within the media industry, whether audio, visual or a combination of the two.
Previous students have gone on to work for Global, Capital, Heart, Smooth, LBC, Radio X, Gold, BBC, Bauer, IMG, Goal.com, Premier League Productions, Beach Soccer World Wide, The Fellas Studios, TikTok, Facebook, Pinewood studios, Bloomberg, Sky and the list of blue chip media companies expands year on year.
